KARACHI, July 4: The State Bank has asked all banks and DFIs to settle up to August 31, 2003, all the cases received for write-off of irrecoverable loans and advances under tailor-made SBP guidelines. The deadline for receiving such cases has already expired on June 30.

A circular issued by the SBP to all banks and DFIs on Friday said that from the status submitted by the banks/DFIs it has been noticed that the settlement process is very slow and still lot of cases are pending with them for decision under SBP guidelines.
