KARACHI, July 3: The city government has taken measures to simplify the procedure for the renewal of proprietary rights of a property.

At a meeting chaired by City Nazim Naimatullah Khan here on Thursday, it was decided that a lease would be renewed in three days at the most on production of a copy of the old lease and the last challan issued.

The meeting also decided that work be started on one-window operation for mutation and lease to facilitate masses..The service is to be made available at the ground floor of the Civic Centre.

A five-member committee, headed by the EDO Revenue and comprised of Nazim of Liaquatabad Town Dr Parvez Mahmood, Chairman of Land Committee Goharul Islam, UC Nazim Abid Ilyas and DO Land (KDA) Masood Jaffery. This committee would take steps to improve the lease grant system.

The meeting decided that the entire lease department record would be computerized and that the work would be started within 15 days with the cooperation of lease officers and the IT Group of Officers.—APP
