HYDERABAD, July 2: Notorious bandit Ali Khoso and two of his accomplices were shot dead in an encounter with police at a police kiosk in the Moolchand forest, near Bulri Shah Karim, on Tuesday night.
This was claimed by district police officer (operations) A.D. Khawaja.
He said that the encounter took place after a gang of bandits attacked the police kiosk and added that three Kalashnikovs were recovered from the possession of the outlaws.
He said that a member of the gang of Khoso, Latif Chang, surrendered to the Tando Mohammad Khan police on Wednesday.
The DPO said that two of the dead bandits remained unidentified whereas the body of Khoso was identified by Nathu Mallah whose six relatives were believed to have been killed by Khoso and his accomplices for providing information to the police, leading to the killing of a dacoit.
He said that Mallah, who was present on the occasion, knew Khoso since he used to come to his village for having dinner at gun point.
He said that Khoso carried a head money of Rs1 million and was wanted in the cases of 35 murders and some high profile kidnappings of industrialists, government officials, landlords and professionals, registered with the different police stations of Sindh.
A case has been registered with the Bulri Shah Karim police following the encounter.
