NAUSHERO FEROZE, July 2: District Naib Nazim Syed Hassan Ali Shah suspended the membership of four Awam Dost Panel (ADP) councillors and called police to get the members out of the session on Tuesday.

The membership of Ahmed Nawaz Bhurut and Ali Sher Bhurut was suspended on the fourth day of budget session on charges of absenteeism.

The membership of Munawar Beg and Ahmed Jalbani was suspended till the next session on the basis of misconduct and not obeying the orders of convenor.

The elected members were directed by the convenor to leave the house as their membership had been suspended. But they did not oblige the orders by saying that they were being victimized by the Jatoi-Syed Ittehad.

On this the convenor called police to get the members out of the house. The police tried to take them out but they refused to leave the session. Later, the convenor adjourned the session due to lack of quorum.

SIT-IN: The passengers and staff of a Karachi-bound bus (JB- 757) staged a sit-in on the National Highway near Kandiaro to protest against the alleged detention of bus driver and snatching of money from him by the police in presence of the judicial magistrate Kandiaro on Tuesday.

The bus was coming from Peshawar and cautioned by the police for a routine checking. But it stopped a little ahead due to speed for which the police detained the driver, beat him up on the road and lodged him in the lock-up.

The protest was ended after the release of driver.
