RCB elected body restored

RAWALPINDI, June 30: The Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi bench, has restored the 12-member Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB).

Disposing of a petition, the LHC judge, Justice Maulvi Anwarul Haq, in a short order on Monday restored the full elected board. The detailed judgment will be released on Tuesday.

The petition was filed by a former RCB member, Haji Ijaz, who had challenged the suspension of the full board and formation of a mini-board and its validity despite the end of its period on May 5.

The petitioner said all the development works and other decisions made by the mini-board, except for the payment of salaries, should be declared null and void.
