Bridge player dies

KARACHI, June 29: Veteran bridge player and founding member of Pakistan Bridge Federation Sharif Chaudhry died during Super Bowl Bridge at Aslam Memorial Hall due to cardiac arrest on Sunday evening.

The 72-year-old Sharif was playing for IV-Bidders when he suffered a heart attack. He was taken to Aga Khan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He also represented Pakistan as a non-playing captain of the national team for the Far Eastern Bridge Championship in 1974.

The event was abandoned due to his death. —APP
