KARACHI: Veteran first-class cricketer Hafiz Majid Jahangir will lead Omar Associated in the forthcoming Patron’s Trophy Grade-II cricket tournament. The department’s chief announced here on Friday.

Naved Khan has been named vice-captain of the side which contains several experienced players who have all played first-class cricket, according to Nadeem Omar, the sports-loving director of Omar Associates.

Nasir Shah will be the head coach, Adnan Jamal assistant coach while Ahmed Hayat is the team manager.

Omar Associates are placed in Group ‘C’ along with Karachi Port Trust, Face Fresh, Candyland and debutants Punjab Text Book Board. They will play first three-day match against Face Fresh at the Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot from March 1. The team leaves for Sialkot on Monday.
