U-19 trials start in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, June 28: A three-day trials got under way here at Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium on Saturday to select Peshawar District Under-19 team for the forthcoming inter-district championship, commencing from July 11 all over the country.

More than 200 players of 44 clubs, registered with Peshawar District Cricket Association (PDCA), turned up for the three-day trials.

A selection committee comprising first-class cricketers Rehmat Gul, Sajjad Khan, Hashim Khan and Qazi Muhammad Shafiq has been constituted.

The inter-district under-19 junior championship will see as many as 78 districts of the country competing in 194 two-day matches.—APP
