LAHORE: As the selection of nucleus staff and corporals for the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) is at the final stages, the Punjab government has begun identifying land for its regional and district offices.

At a meeting held on Tuesday, officials said, the chief secretary expressed his resolve to provide land to the CTD which was being reorganised to make it a combat-ready institution against terrorists. The anti-terrorism force will be part of the CTD.

The meeting was attended by the home secretary, the inspector general (IG), the senior Board of Revenue member, the CTD additional IG and a number of district coordination officers (DCOs).

Officials said land at around 24 locations had been identified for regional and district offices, and the chief secretary asked DCOs to identify the land in consultation with CTD officials.
