PESHAWAR, June 28: Dean of Faculty of Crop Production Sciences Professor Fazal Hayat has emphasized the need for production of good quality seeds so that the farmers could get a better crop yield.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on “Seed Technology” held at the NWFP Agricultural University under the auspices of Directorate of Outreach on Saturday.

The seminar was attended by researchers, extension staff, general public, government agencies and some NGOs.

Mr Fazal mentioned the WTO and its impact on the local agricultural community. He also stressed the need for employing latest technology for the detection and vacillation of good quality seeds.

Others who spoke on the occasion included Professor Dr Bashir Ahmad, Aslam Khan and Dr Bashir Ahmad.—APP
