DPO’s remarks flayed

FAISALABAD, June 27: The Faisalabad Union of Journalists has strongly criticized the “insulting utterances” of the District Police Officer against newsmen.

At a meeting presided over by FUJ President Muhammad Yousaf, the local newsmen decided to launch movement against DPO Zafar Abbas Luk from July 1 if he did not tender an apology.

The DPO had, during his address at an anti-narcotics seminar at the TMA Hall on Thursday, dubbed the journalists as ‘outlaws and anti-social elements’. He also accused them of creating unrest among masses.

The meeting decided to approach national and international organizations of journalists to seek their support.
