KARACHI, June 26: The combined opposition parties will march on the parliament house and the Supreme Court building on Saturday to protest against the LFO and for supremacy of the constitution.

This was stated by People’s Party Parliamentarians chief Makhdoom Amin Fahim before leaving for Islamabad on Thursday.

The march, he said, would start from the parliament lodges and added that legislators would converge on the parliament house to reiterate their rejection of the government’s “anti-people” policies. From there, he said, they would move to the Supreme Court.

The protest coincides with the National Assembly session that will take up the opposition’s no-trust motion against Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain on Saturday.

Makhdoom Fahim alleged that judiciary had been made “hostage” under the Provisional Constitutional Order and described the situation as unfortunate. As long as this situation prevailed, he said, none of people’s problems would be solved.

He said the no-trust motion was based on principles and declared that the combined opposition would continue its struggle.

In reply to a question, the Parliamentarians’ chief said choosing a leader of opposition was a secondary matter at the moment because top priority was the LFO. He denied he was acting as bridge between the military and the PPP leadership.
