It’s award season all over the world, and it’s no different is our country. The fourth Pakistan Media Awards were held on Jan 11 at Karachi’s Expo Centre. More than 30 awards were given away on the occasion.

The ceremony started way off the mark, around midnight, and featured dance performances by Meera, Noor, Saud and Javeria, Sana and Hasan Rizvi of Body Beat. Rup and Qurram of Josh and Komal Rizvi also performed their popular numbers.

Among the fashion winners were Ayyan (Best Model), Omer Shahzad (Best Male Model), Zainab Chottani (Best Designer), Angie Marshall (Best Stylist) and Fayyaz Ahmed (Best Photographer).

Actor-compere Faisal Qureshi and Mahira Khan bagged the trophies for Best Actor and Best Actress for Adhoori Aurat and Shehr-i-Zaat, respectively, while Sultana Siddiqui received the Best Director honour for Zindagi Gulzar Hai. Main Hoon Shahid Afridi was declared Best Film of 2013.

Renowned writer Anwar Maqsood was given the much-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award while his play Aangan Terha grabbed the Best Theatre Play gilded trophy. Congrats to all the winners.
