ISLAMABAD, June 24: Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Tuesday said armed forces were fully equipped and capable of defending the motherland, and his government was committed to providing them with what was needed for strengthening the defence.

The prime minister made these observations during his visit to General Headquarters where he attended various professional briefings pertaining to internal and external security environment and operational preparedness of the Pakistan army.

He paid tribute to the military leadership as well as the officers and jawans who were defending the country’s frontiers from Siachen to Sindh.

Their sacrifices were a source of strength for the nation, he said.
