ISLAMABAD, Dec 14: The national training camps for the SAF Games, in progress mostly at Pakistan Sports Complex here, broke up for Eid holidays Friday.

The training camps will henceforth resume on Dec 20 to begin preparations in all earnest for the South Asian Games to be held in the Pakistan capital from March 30 to April 8.

“The hard training for the South Asian Games will commence after Eid”, an official associated with training of Pakistani athletes for the six-nations 9th SAF Games said.

The officials said some of the Pakistani squads will be sent abroad for training in the next three months before taking part in the SAF Games.

Those to train abroad in the coming months will most likely be the squads of athletics, women’s swimming and volleyball.

Some Pakistani squads, like that of wrestling, weightlifting, karate, taekwondo and boxing, trained overseas for the SAF games which were originally scheduled for October 6-15 before being postponed on Sep 23.—APP
