LANDI KOTAL, June 24: One person was killed and two others sustained bullet injuries in Loe Shalman area of Landi Kotal tehsil in Khyber Agency on Tuesday.
Sources said Ali Akbar, a resident of Kuz Arat, opened fire on his cousin Anwar after their children quarrelled over a pity issue and Anwar admonished them.
Anwar, after being hit in the arm, responded by shooting Ali Akbar with his rifle, killing him on the spot. Ali Akbar’s son Hunar Gul was also injured in the attack. Both the injured and the deceased were shifted to Landi Kotal hospital.
TUBEWELLS: Residents of Sultankhel area complained that the tubewells installed in their village had been out of order since long.
A tubewell at Bacha Kaley had gone dry long ago and the area residents had repeatedly brought the matter to the notice of political authorities and public health officials, but their demand for deep digging of the well had not been responded so far.
Another tubewell at Sadokhel village was blocked by a canister during its digging stage and its contractor had left the digging half way through due to financial losses.
