HANGU, June 24: Police have recovered a 12-year-old boy, arrested seven kidnappers and seized the vehicle in which they were taking the boy to Orakzai Agency.

The boy, Mohammad Ayaz, son of Mohammad Hussain, was kidnapped from Kahi area of Katcha Pakka locality of Hangu district.

SSP Ghaniur Rehman Wazir told a press conference at his office here on Tuesday that the police set up checkpoints on all the routes leading to the Orakzai Agency after receiving the information about the kidnapping.

He said a police party, led by Doaba SHO Firdous Khan and SHO (investigation) Qaisar Khan, stopped a pick-up (J-1909 Peshawar) in which the kidnappers were taking the boy to the tribal area. The police recovered the kidnapped boy and arrested all the seven kidnappers travelling in the vehicle.

The detained kidnappers were identified as Mohammad Gul, Ismail, Abdus Salam, Mohammad Farooq, Bakhtiar Mohammad, Abdul Qadir and Musawir Gul.

The SSP said one of the criminals, Musawir Gul, resident of Teri, Karak, was wanted to the Karak police in a murder case.
