SHANGLA: Three policemen, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were injured Thursday when a remote-controlled bomb struck their police mobile van in Shangla, DawnNews reported.

According to the police, Bisham police station’s mobile van was patrolling the area when a loud remote-controlled explosion occurred as it reached Chakesar. Subsequently, three policemen, including SHO Sher Hussain Khan, sustained injuries.

Police sources said the bomb was detonated through a remote control.

The injured persons were immediately shifted to a local hospital. Their condition was reported as out of danger.

Meanwhile, police personnel cordoned off the site of incident and a search operation went underway to apprehend those responsible.

Earlier on Jan 12, a senior PML-N leader Amir Muqam narrowly escaped when his convoy was hit by two powerful blasts which left five people, three policemen among them, dead in Shangla.
