Published December 15, 2001

KARACHI, Dec 14: The last Friday of Ramazan, or Jumatul Wida, which is also marked as Youm Al-Quds, was observed here on Friday.

The day is observed to show solidarity with the Palestinians for their struggle to save the first Qibla, Masjid-i-Aqsa.

Ulema and Khateeb in their Friday sermons highlighted the importance of the day and expressed solidarity with the struggle of the people of Palestine and Kashmir and against the acts of terrorism unleashed by Israel and India.

A procession was also taken out to commemorate the day.—APP
