OKARA, June 19: Defence Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal has said there is no army’s pressure on parliament.

Speaking to newsmen at the Okara press club on Thursday, he iterated that parliament was functioning freely. He urged the president and the prime minister to hold dialogues with India.

After the Speaker’s ruling on the LFO, he claimed that the opposition had just threatened to move no-confidence against him.

The minister later gave a cheque of Rs500,000 for establishing information technology centre at the press club.

SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead by his neighbour over a petty matter at Mirzapur village on Thursday.

Reports said Sardar Ali’s house sewerage was drained towards his neighbour Riaz’s house. They exchanged harsh words over this after which Riaz and his relatives entered Sardar’s house and shot him dead. Deepalpur police have registered a case.
