DADU, June 18: A large number of people from different parts of the town gathered outside the press club and held a demonstration against Hesco for resorting to unscheduled load-shedding on Wednesday.

The prolonged suspension of power affected Gharibabad Mohalla, Jagatabad, Shahani Mohalla, Khadh Mohalla, Cinema Chowk, and DPO Chowk the most. It also affected work at government offices and business centres.

Talking to newsmen, the leaders of the protesters, Imdad Ali and Munawar, said that Hesco officials were resorting to load-shedding to cover their line losses.

They alleged that influential owners of ice factories and poultry farms were consuming electricity illegally with the help of Hesco officials.

On being contacted, the SDO, Dadu grid station, Manzoor Kakepoto, claimed that electricity supply had not been suspended from the grid station for a week.

He claimed that he was unaware of the suspension of power supply to any part of the town.
