CHITRAL, June 18: There are two executive district officers (EDOs) of education in Chitral due to the tug of war between the MMA MPs and district Nazim who are in the run to get their man posted against the coveted position.

About weeks ago, the provincial government had ordered the replacement of EDO (education) Samad Gul by Sherdil Aman. The latter is a close relative of MPA Maulana Abdur Rehman and a protege of MNA Maulana Abdul Akber Chitrali, while the former  has won the blessings of district Nazim  Shahzada Mohyuddin.

In the meantime, the district Nazim approached the provincial governor to get the order cancelled and he succeeded.

Although, no order for cancellation has so far been issued in this regard but the incumbent EDO (education) was verbally asked by the authorities not to relinquish the charge and thus he continued in his office.

The two officers have since then been laying claims to the office and, interestingly, both remain present in the office and most of the time they sit in the same office.
