KARACHI: Heavy vehicles banned

KARACHI, Dec 14: The DIG Traffic, Mohammed Yamin Khan, has banned the entry of heavy traffic in districts central and west from Dec 14 for a period of one week in view of intermittent traffic jams and to give relief to motorists.

A press release issued here on Friday says that the ban had been imposed in consultation with the transporters as also requested by Nazim Karachi City.

All heavy traffic emanating from Karachi Port, which used to pass through SITE, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, New Karachi for their journey towards Superhighway would now pass through these areas between 12 midnight and 8am till Dec 22.—PPI
