SHIKARPUR, June 17: At least 16 out of 22 members of the Taluka Council, Shikarpur, have expressed no-confidence and passed a no-trust motion against the Taluka Nazim, Agha Amjadullah.
The no-confidence move was discussed at a session of the Taluka Council, Shikarpur, on Tuesday.
The no-trust application was moved by the Naib Nazim, Union Council-8 and a member, Taluka Council, Khursheed Ahmad Soomro.
Only 16 members attended the session, which was presided over by the convener, Syed Aijaz Ali Shah.
The no-confidence motion was passed after conducting the voting process through a secret ballot.
All the 16 members cast their votes against the Taluka Nazim.
Earlier, the members expressed their views supporting the no-confidence move.
The Taluka Nazim was not present in person to reply to the allegations levelled against him in the no-confidence move.
ROBBERY: Five bandits looted Rs700,000 in cash, prize bonds amounting to Rs50,000 and gold ornaments from a house in the Sadar locality here on Tuesday.
The bandits barged into the house of Mohammad Younus Mughal, a gold dealer, and looted the valuables after holding the family members hostage at gunpoint.
Mr Younus’s brothers Mohammad Nazir and Mohammad Rafiq Mughal were also beaten up by the bandits.
Talking to local journalists, Mr Younus said he went to the New Faujdari police station to lodge a report but the SHO did not register the case.
