HYDERABAD, June 17: The Sindh Public Transport Coach/Bus Owners Association, Hyderabad, held a protest demonstration outside the press club on Tuesday accusing the SHO, Baldia police station, of sabotaging the decision of the DPO, Hyderabad, A. D. Khwaja, about plying of buses between Hyderabad and Karachi.

Talking to newsmen, the representatives of the association, Syed Turab Ali Shah, Ali Hassan Soomro, Rafique Ahmed Abro and others said that they were former employees of the SRTC and they had purchased buses from the corporation when it was dissolved.

They said that sometime back they had given 42 buses in the administrative control of Haji Ramzan Palari and Raja Sikandar Hayat, and added that, however, after sometime both increased their fleet to 70 buses and started charging Rs870 per bus daily as starter’s fee.

They said when they protested against their attitude, both Palari and Hayat withdrew 24 of their buses from the road on May 15, which were still standing idle.

They said that the DPO, Hyderabad, A. D. Khwaja, took notice of the volatile situation and held a meeting of both the parties on June 12, and took a judicious decision in the matter.

They said that the DPO directed the SHO, Baldia police station, Yaqoob Jutt, to implement the decision.

They, however, complained that the SHO was delaying the matter and had failed to implement the decision.

They appealed to the DPO to ensure the implementation of his decision as the transporters were suffering huge losses.

LUMHS: The controller of examinations, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, has announced the results of the DMRD (Diploma in Medical Radio Diagnosis) part-I examinations held in April.
