LAHORE, June 16: The Pakistan Wapda Hydro-Electric Central Labour Union has urged Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali to order 15 per cent increase in the existing basic salaries and pensions besides regularization of the services of workcharged and contract employees.
The demands were voiced at a meeting of the workcharged, contract and daily-wage members of the union, presided over by Khurshid Ahmad, at the Bakhtiar Labour Hall here on Monday.
Speaking at the meeting the union leaders said that increase would become meaningless in case it was allowed on initial, instead of the existing basic pay scales and pensions.
They said that regularization of the services of contract and workcharged employees was necessary to save them from the continuous anxiety about the insecurity of jobs thus enabling them to discharge their duties with peace of mind. — Reporter
