THREE HURT: Three people sustained burn wounds, while two vehicles and articles of seven shops and two houses were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in a unit of a filling station in Hajiabad on the Faisalabad-Sheikhupura Road here on Saturday.

An oil tanker was unloading at Yousaf and Company Filling Station when fire broke out due to some internal malfunction. The salesmen on duty tried to extinguish the fire but failed to do so. The oil tanker also caught fire and burst with a big bang. The fire engulfed a mini-wagon parked near the petrol pump and seven shops and a house situated on both sides of the road. The articles lying in the shops of a tailor, electric appliances, poultry products and grocery were reduced to ashes. Salesman of the petrol pump, Shahzad Ali, oil-tanker driver Naveed and a passer-by Qamar, sustained burn wounds. The condition of all the injured was stated to be out of danger.

Fire brigade extinguished the fire after an hour-long effort.
