6.5kg heroin seized, 2 held

RAWALPINDI, June 13: The special investigation cell of Anti- Narcotics Force (ANF) on Friday arrested two members of a drug mafia and seized 6.5kg heroin from their possession in Rawalpindi, sources told Dawn.

The joint director of the SIC on a tip that two persons will try to smuggle drugs from Afghanistan to Rawalpindi, set up a team that conducted raids and arrested Mohammad Zaman and Mohammad Afzal Khan.

BODY FOUND: The 19-year-old missing son of a government official was found murdered near his house in F-6/1 on Friday, police said.

Danial, the son of deputy secretary ministry of tourism, Ali Asghar, left his house for a walk on Thursday night but did not return.

When his father called his son on his mobile phone, some other person responded instead of his son.

Danial’s father informed the police about the incident but it failed to trace any clue of the missing boy. On Friday, some residents of the area informed Mr Asghar that his son was lying a few yards from his house.
