HYDERABAD, June 13: A driver of the mechanical division of Public Works Department, resident of RBB Colony, Jamshoro, Abdur Razzaq, son of Noor Mohammad, has declared that if the nominated accused in an FIR, who tried to sodomize his 16-year-old son, Abdul Waqar, was not awarded deterrent punishment, he would commit self-immolation outside the Hyderabad Press Club.

He was speaking at a press conference at the press club on Friday.

He said on Thursday evening, a man, Feroze Almani, son of the Nazima, Union Council Jamshoro, Naima Baloch; and another man, Kamran, took away his son in the Nazima’s car, A-1656, and tried to sodomize his son on the Super Highway, near the office of the Motorway department.

He said his son started crying for help and when the accused saw a van of the motorway police, they escaped in their car.

He said the motorway police escorted his son to the Jamshoro police station where FIR No16/2003 under section 377-511 (attempt to commit sodomy) was registered.

He alleged that the Nazima of Union Council Jamshoro was issuing threats of dire consequences to his son and other family members.

He appealed to the Sindh governor, the chief minister, the home secretary and the IGP, Sindh, to provide protection to his family members and restore justice in the matter.

He said if the accused were not awarded deterrent punishment, he will commit self-immolation outside the Hyderabad Press Club. The victim, Waqar, who is a Class X student, was also present.
