MULTAN, Dec 13: An agreement has been reached between the Multan Municipal Corpor-ation and Gowala Association over the shifting of Gowala Colonies outside the city.

The decision was taken at a meeting here on Thursday which was attended by city Nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar, DCO Maj Azam Sulman (retired) and cattle pen association (CPA) president Adul Wahid Qureshi.

In the first phase, cattle pens will be shifted to lands allocated at Mati Tal Road, Duniyapur Road and Shujaabad Road.

Land owners are developing these colonies on self-help basis while facilities like electricity, sewerage, metal roads, veterinary hospitals, dispensaries, post offices, parks, banks and schools will be provided by the administration.

CPA office bearers said they had deposited the required amount of land 10 months ago, but no land had so far been allocated to them. The DCO however assured them that the land for gowala colonies would soon be allocated to them.

EID TRAINS: Special trains will be run between Multan and Lahore on the eve of Eid.

This was stated in a press release issued here on Thursday by the Multan Railways divisional superintendent.

According to the press release, the first train will depart Multan on Dec 15 at 4pm via Khanewal, Chichawatni, Sahiwal, Okara, Pattoki, Raiwind and Kot Lakhpat and will reach Lahore at 930pm.

Another train will be launched on the same route on Dec 19.—Nouman
