HYDERABAD, June 10: The district advisory committee, at its meeting held here on Tuesday at the office of District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman, approved development schemes under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme, phase-IV scheme.

The meeting decided to allocate Rs3.1 million to each taluka of the district for carrying out development schemes.

Speaking at the meeting, the district Nazim asked the taluka Nazims to submit their development schemes so that tenders for them might be called as soon as possible.

He said that in addition to the amount, Rs80 million was already available for the development schemes to be executed through the citizens’ community boards.

He said that the boards were required to deposit 20 per cent cost of proposed a development project with the government for seeking 80 per cent funding.

The projects were to be jointly executed by committees, consisting nominees of the boards and the community development department, to ensure transparency, he said.

He urged the taluka Nazims to get at least one board registered at each union council so that funds available with the district government could be utilized.
