KARACHI: PIA network upgraded

Published June 11, 2003

KARACHI, June 10: The Pakistan International Airlines has further streamlined and upgraded its Sabre reservation network, to ensure in time cancellation of reservations with fictitious ticket numbers, to make seats available for genuine travellers.

All travel agents have been provided with auto ticket printers, which will eliminate manual intervention that caused irregular bookings by some of the travel agents, who, despite several warnings and penalties, continue to indulge in practice of blocking seats for their clients and to save 50 per cent no-show charges.

Due to fictitious ticketing, seats are blocked and passengers have to face problems.

All such bookings will now be cancelled by the PIA’s auto cancellations programme. —APP
