HYDERABAD, June 8: The activists of the Sindhi Hari Tehrik and Sindhani Tehrik held a protest demonstration outside the Hyderabad Press Club on Sunday against the manager of a landlord of Mirpurkhas for mistreating Haris and their womenfolk.
The protesters were led by the president of the Sindhani Tehrik, Nazir Qureshi, and Hari Tehrik leader, Mohammad Ali Talpur.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders of the Sindhi Hari Tehrik and Sindhani Tehrik said that Qazi Malook and his son, Ajab Khan, who were the managers of the landlord, had criminally assaulted the Kolhi women and also kidnapped Karmo Kolhi.
They alleged that the district administration and police were protecting the tormenters of the poor Haris and also threatening the Hari Tehrik leaders with dire consequences.
They demanded the arrest of the culprits and immediate release of Karmo Kolhi.
PROTEST: The shopkeepers of the New Cloth Market on Saturday lit bonfires to protest against the frequent suspension of power supply to their shops despite the fact that they are paying their bills to the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) regularly.
The shopkeepers closed their shops and came out on the main roads, blocking them completely.
