I hope he gets Hafeez out in the 2nd T20 as well. That will be great =) and in the long run will help Pakistan. It is time for the Prof. to start practicing what he teaches to others ; accept he is not an opener and in T20 his role only fits him to come at No. 4,5 or 6.

@Racer: Professor needs to learn first before he can teach anyone a lesson for sure bowler like Steyn. Professor should only play club level cricket since that is where he can dominate.

Steyn was pointing the obvious which Pakistan selectors don't seems to see that Hafeez does not belong in the group that can compete with the best in the world. How many more chances we will give to a batsman who has no footwork and who do not know which ball to drive and which to leave.

Hafeez cannot be selected on his batting alone with an average of 28.00. If he is in the team as an all-rounder then his batting number should be lower down the order. Onlt batsmen with close to 50 or a minimum of 40.00 plus average should be selected as top order batsmen.

the only thing silly in this whole situation is Hafeez the most utterly failed opening batsman playing international level cricket. Even club level players have much better batting technique and shot selection than this useless excuse of an opener. Yet only in Pakistan we would such miserably listless nincompoops continuing to stay in the national side for so long.

It is childish and mocking behaviour, not worthy of a great bowler like Steyn. He needs to introspect. As for pakistan its fundamental problem is that it needs a culture of diversity which goes against the grain of it creation which is an historical mistake.

It was an indirect signal for Hafeez but only if he could understand, to show the guts and the grit to read the "writings on the wall" as they say and and maybe, immediately retire from all types, forms, design and formats of cricket. Hafeez will fail miserably again in the upcoming series in South Africa. However, he will do well against weaker teams in upcoming matches. As a result, he will still remain in the team. Guys like him perform well against weaker teams and then never leave the team despite their poor performance and lack of technique. He needs to show some class and self respect and go back to first class cricket.

I'm not happy with Hafeez's performance, nor am i defending him, but ICC's biased rulings shouldn't be ignored.

I wonder what difference will there be when Hafeez faces up to steyn in SA. He has undoubtedly proved homself against Steyn and has undoubtedly convinced the supporters and the world that he cannot play Steyn, the only ones not convinced are the selectors. I wonder what else are they hoping for?
