KARACHI: A high-powered Saudi Arabian air delegation is arriving in Karachi today from Saudi Arabia to study the organisation and working of the PIA to adopt the same for the Saudi Arabian Airlines, an authoritative source said yesterday.

The main purpose of the visit is to seek the help of the PIA in improving the S.A.A. technically, it was stated. S.A.A. authorities are said to have approached the PIA after having been greatly impressed by the latter’s reputation as an airline with a high technical efficiency record. PIA was the first foreign airline to be contacted by the S.A.A. for the purpose, it was further stated.

PIA expects a formal request by the Saudi Arabian delegation at the conclusion of its visit to send a team of experts to organise the S.A.A. on PIA pattern.

During their stay, the visiting delegation will call on the heads of various sections of PIA and also the Managing Director, Air Commodore Nur Khan. — Agencies
