KARACHI, Nov 10: The reigning International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) world amateur snooker champion Mohammad Asif together with his three contemporaries are likely to appear before the visa counselor in Islamabad’s German Embassy in person on Tuesday to seek Schengen visas for Daugavpils, Latvia, where the IBSF world event is slated to take place from Nov 27 to Dec 8.

Besides Asif, three other players are Mohammad Shahid Aftab, Imran Shahzad and Mohammad Sajjad.

An official of the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Federation (PBSF) said on Sunday that the cueists who reside in Punjab have been asked to approach the German Embassy in the federal capital in this regard.

The PBSF president Alamgir Sheikh is due to fly to Islamabad on Monday to accompany the players to the German Embassy the next day. The Latvia-bound players are also expected to reach Islamabad from their respective cities on Monday.

Meanwhile, the German consulate in Karachi has issued visas to Karachi-based team official, delegate and referee the other day.
