KARACHI, June 6: The Sindh government and the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, here on Friday, decided to cooperate for training of nurses.

At a meeting, Sindh governor, stressed the need for encouraging the people in nursing profession at national and international level, while appreciating the concern shown by the OPF, with regard to nurses’ training in the province.

Federal Minister Abdul Sattar Lalika said keeping in view the available facilities in Karachi, it was decided to initiate the pilot project of the training in the city.

The meeting also decided to make nurse training centres effective, besides upgrading of their syllabus.

Advisor to Sindh chief minister on health, Nauman Sahgal, Chief Secretary, Dr Tawakal Qazi, Federal Secretary, Health, Khawaja Ijaz Sarwar, Principal Secretary, Brig (Retd) Akhtar Zamin, Sindh Secretary Health Ashique Memon, OPF Managing Director Habibur Rehman, Dr Pervez Gondal from America, Dr Asim Hussain and other senior officials were also present.—PPI
