HYDERABAD, June 5: Scheduled caste peasants of Anwar Khan Pathan village, Deh 380, Mirpurkhas, have accused the state manager of a landlord of unleashing atrocities against peasants.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Wednesday, the president of the Sindhi Hari Tehrik, Mirpurkhas, Kirir Labari, accompanied by Krishan Kolhi, Bheemo Kolhi, Sohni, Marvan Bai, wife of Naqi, and Hanko, wife of Karmu, said they were working as peasants on the land of Anwar Khan Pathan under the supervision of Qazi Malook Pathan for the last 12 years.
They alleged they were not given any share of agriculture produce and a large number of their cattle had been taken away by Malook.
They accused Ajab Khan, the son of Malook, of criminal assault on women.
The peasants, all Kolhi by caste, appealed to the authorities to order an investigation into the matter and provide them with protection.
They also demanded recovery of Karmu Kolhi, who was kidnapped some days back.
SUMMER VACATIONS: The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, will remain closed for summer vacations till July 13.
The university authorities also announced on Tuesday that examinations, practicals and tests would be conducted as per schedule.
