Taliban ‘delighted’ Malala missed out on Nobel

MIRAMSHAH: The Pakistani Taliban said on Friday they were “delighted” Malala Yousufzai missed out on the Nobel Peace Prize.

Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Shahidullah Shahid told AFP the 16-year-old had done nothing to deserve the Nobel, which went to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons for its work to rid the world of chemical arms.

“We are delighted that she didn’t get it. She did nothing big so it’s good that she didn’t get it,” he said by telephone from an undisclosed location.

“This award should be given to the real Muslims who are struggling for Islam. Malala is against Islam, she is secular.”

Malala won the European Parliament’s Sakharov rights prize on Thursday, which the TTP condemned in similar terms, claiming “her struggle against Islam” was the reason the West was honouring her.

They, and their supporters and appologists, were saying that she is being given the Noble because she is US agent. Now that she has not got it, does it mean that she is, indeed, not an agent.

Taliban dont even realize how stupid and disgusting they are to the entire world. It is Allah that is granting Malala izzat and to Taliban zillat....they dont know its Allah who saved her life and they can never harm her.

All this poor girl wanted to do was go to school and campaigned for the rights of other girls where the brutal TTP where causing havoc, fear and atrocities in swat. This remarkable young lady has more courage then these TTP put together. I also dont understand why a significant number of pakistanis are against her....just shows what a sorry state pakistan has become

There is no shame in being the runner up for the Nobel Peace Prize. This is still a major victory for Malala and sane persons everywhere. The Taliban just demonstrate their ignorance when they talk about Malala. A fourteen year old girl is wiser than every Talib put together.

The Taliban are deluded. The 'work' that they do is hidden behind a smokescreen. That what they are doing is islamic ally accepted and that th people of Pakistan should accept what they are doing lest they be against Islam. Malala is not against Islam. She is against inequality. Taliban are an unjust, corrupt organisation that their destruction should come about swiftly and promptly.

All truck drivers and chowkidaars by previous profession, and zeroes by education, are now the self claimed authorities and leaders of 'true' islam. What a joke of nature. I keep forgetting that slaughtering innocent humans shopping at a market is the brave fight for Islam. Shooting a Muslim girl in the head is the brave fight for Islam. Beheading people for listening to music is the brave fight for Islam. I wonder if the brave Shahidullah Shahid can read. I know he cant because nothing he does is for Islam. He says, "Malala is against Islam, she is secular". Since when is secular against Islam? You have no understanding of Islam! Please learn to read!
