PPP holds demos against LFO

KHAIRPUR, June 2: Two separate protest processions were taken out under the aegis of the PPP, Khairpur district, here on Monday against the LFO and cases against Asif Ali Zardari not being withdrawn.

The protesters started marching from Wassan House, led by MPA Nawaz Hussain Wassan.

Another procession was taken out by the PPP (ladies wing), led by Dr Mehreen Bhutto (MPA).

Both reached the main Chowk of Court Road and set up a hunger-strike camp. The protesters raised slogans against the LFO. They also raised slogans for the release of Asif Ali Zardari.

FIVE INJURED: Five people were injured in a clash between two groups of Chakranis over a piece of land in the Naseer Chakrani village, near Kumb, Kot Diji Taluka, on Sunday.

The injured were identified as Meeral, Bhalio, Khamiso, Sattar, and Ali Dad.

Police have registered a case against 12 tribesmen and arrested five — Walidad, Imdad, Roshan, Anwar, and Deedar.

SUICIDES: A youth, Aziz Ahmed Hisbani, 19, committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol due to some family problems in the Hisbani village, near Ranipur, on Sunday.

In another incident, a man, Mohammad Shahmir, 35, committed suicide by hanging himself as he was jobless since long in the Bharoo Khan Rajpar village, Kot Diji Taluka, on Sunday.

MAN KILLED: Some unknown armed men kidnapped a man, Saeed Ahmed Ujjan, 35, in the jurisdiction of the Pir Jo Goth on Sunday. Later, the same day his body was recovered from a banana orchard.
