ISLAMABAD, June 2: The government would present the federal budget for year 2003-4 on June 7, Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad announced on Monday.

He said all the media reports that budget might be presented through an ordinance were incorrect, and it would be announced by Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz in the National Assembly on June 7 at 4.30pm.

The information minister said it was expected that the opposition would cooperate but the ruling party and its allies were prepared to tackle the situation.

The post-budget press conference would be addressed by the finance minister on June 8. Economic Survey would be released on June 5.
