KARACHI, May 30: World No Tobacco Day is being observed in the country on Saturday with the pledge that the Prohibition of Smoking and Protection of Non-smokers Ordinance 2002 will be strictly enforced to help protect the public health from tobacco.

Specialists in chest and tobacco-related diseases pointed out on the occasion that tobacco was the single largest preventable cause of death in Pakistan.

They urged the authorities to take effective measures to control the use of tobacco.—APP
