BAHAWALPUR, May 30: A Lahore High Court Multan bench judge on Friday issued show-cause notices and summoned two motorway police officials on June 2 who caught him overspeeding on the Bahawalpur-Multan road.
A DSP and an inspector stopped Justice Farrukh Mahmood Malik’s car for violating the speed limit on highway.
Meanwhile, both the officials submitted their written reply in the court.
POLIO CAMPAIGN: The district administration with the help of health department is launching a three-day drive from June 3 after detection of polio cases in Multan and Lodhran district.
Initially polio drops will be administered to around 300,000 children under five years of age in Bahawalpur and Ahmadpur East tehsils which are adjacent to Lodhran.
A meeting was held here in this regard which was presided over by district Nazim Tariq Cheema and attended, among others, by the WHO consultant on Friday.
The meeting set up 556 mobile teams which would go door to door to administer polio drops to the children. Besides that, 103 camps would be set up for the purpose. Moreover, immunization centres in the government hospitals would also continue to administer polio drops to the children.
