ISLAMABAD, Dec 12: A non-governmental organization (NGO), the Hoap Foundation, on Wednesday distributed blankets among 50 Afghan widows in Rawalpindi.

The blankets were donated by Noori Hashwani. Yoka Kondo, the Japanese Embassy’s chief advisor on NGOs, was the chief guest on the occasion.

Ms Kondo said she was well aware of the plight of Afghan women and wanted to bridge the gap between them and the women of Japan. She lauded the efforts of Hoap Foundation and Ms Hashwani for the amelioration of the misery of Afghans in general and the Afghan women in particular. — Reporter
