Soomro visits Pearl’s family

LOS ANGELES, May 30: Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro, on a private visit to the United States, visited slain journalist Daniel Pearl’s house on Wednesday and apprised the family about progress in the case.

Talking to Dawn at a dinner meeting with Pakistani-Americans, Mr Soomro said this was the second time that he had visit Mr Pearl’s house, his previous visit being last year when he was governor of Sindh.

Mr Soomro said he basically visited the Pearl family in order to show Pakistan’s concern and to stress that the government was fully determined to bring the culprits to justice.
