PESHAWAR, Dec 12: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company chief executive, Brig Khalid Khan, has expressed concern over the alleged high-handedness of Chitral’s Nazim-i-Aala, Shehzada Muhiuddin.

Speaking at a press conference here at his office he said that the Nazim-i-Aala had illegally detained his Wapda team at Darosh and sent it back to Chitral by misusing his police force. He said the team included two ACs, two SDOs, eight technicians and three other high officials.

They were working at Booni to improve a system there. Due to a fault during their work, they had to visit Peshawar where the Nazim-i-Aala detained them.

The Pesco chief expressed his grave concern over this attitude and asked Mr Muhiuddin not to address technical problems politically.

Talking about the recent agreement between the Small Hydel Development Organization and Pesco, he said that Pesco would supply power to the lower Chitral and SHYDO would supply power to upper Chitral.

He said that this would facilitate the people of Chitral and there would be no increase in the tariff rates.—PPI
