Mansoor, Farrukh head seedings

ISLAMABAD, May 29: The second edition of the President PSF squash tournament starting on Wednesday in Abbottabad will feature world No 11 Mansoor Zaman along with defending champion Farrukh Zaman.

Mansoor, had missed the tournament last year but this time his participation is certain to light up the event which has a main draw of 16 players.

Last year the competition had a draw of 32 and a purse of Rs 300,000 was therefore accordingly divided. However, this time, with a draw of 16, the players are set to benefit more financially.

Besides Mansoor and Farrukh, the other players in the main round are Shahid Zaman, Ijaz Azmat, Amjad Khan, Mohammad Ilyas, Arshad Iqbal Burki, Zubair Ali Khan, Khayal Mohammad, Majid Khan, Safeerullah Khan and Saeed Hasan. Another four players would make the main draw through qualifying.

The pre-qualifiers set for Wednesday will send through four players to the main qualifying competition from which four will advance.

The players in the main qualifiers are Waseem Shad, Naveed Atlas, Asghar Khan, Azam Khan, Khalid Atlas, Farhan Moeen, Shahnawaz, Faisal Zaman, Yasir Butt, Farhan Mahboob, Wakil Khan and Shehroze Khan.

The final of the tournament will take place on June 10.
