ISLAMABAD, May 29: Efforts will be made to strengthen judiciary, enabling it to perform its constitutional role effectively, Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan said on Wednesday.

An official announcement quoted the prime minister as saying while meeting with a delegation lawyers from Bahawalpur.

Expressing his belief in the rule of the law and the supremacy of the parliament, the prime minister said that the effectiveness and efficiency of the judiciary would be enhanced.

The 21-member delegation of the High Court and District Bar associations from Bahawalpur, led by president of the Bar Nazar Mohammad Malik, discussed with the prime minister matters of mutual interest. The delegation assured the prime minister of its “full support.”
