MUZAFFARABAD, May 27: Three persons, including a woman, were wounded in overnight shelling by Indian troops from across the Line of Control, officials said on Tuesday.

The unprovoked shelling targeted the villages of Bandala, Chahi, Kotli Khumbah, Haripur and Lal Tekri in Samahni sector of the southernmost Bhimbher district on Monday evening, leaving Sabir Hussain, 42, Suleman, 30 and Sedan Begum, 35 injured in Haripur and Lal Tekri, an official said from Bhimbher.

The victims were removed to district headquarters hospital in the neighbouring Mirpur district, he said.

Meanwhile, Indian troops also shelled Khuiratta sector villages in district Kotli on Tuesday afternoon, but no losses were reported from there.

According to official figures, 42 people have died and more than 140 wounded in Indian shelling in different areas of Azad Kashmir since the beginning of this year.
