PESHAWAR, May 26: The Peshawar police have arrested three Afghans on charges of kidnapping and killing a taxi driver of Islamabad, a press release issued here on Monday said.
It said that on May 19, the body of a young man was found at Akhundabad locality in the limits of Gulbahar police station. During the investigation, the police got clues to murder, and on Sunday evening they raided a house in Gujjarabad area of Yakatoot and arrested a gang of car-lifters.
Those arrested in the raid were the residents of Kabul, but living at Gujjarabad locality here since long. They included Nazeer Gul, son of Noor Gul, and his wife, Husan Pari, and Nasrullah, son of Mohammad Zafar.
During the interrogation they disclosed that they had hired a taxi in Islamabad and at Akhundabad locality here, they killed the driver, Jehangir, son of Ghulam Haider, a resident of Kachi Abadi in Islamabad, and drove away the vehicle.
The accused also disclosed that Nisar, son of Taza Gul, was their fourth accomplice.
